State funding: What you need to know:

• The Legislature had originally provided $32 million for Cultural and Museum Grants.

➤ FY 2025–26 budget passed on June 16, 2025

• Therefore, in raw legislative allocations: $20.8 M + $30 M = $50.8 million set aside for the arts in FY 2025–26.
Caveat: Governor’s LineItem Authority

• With the governor’s veto pen looming, it’s uncertain how much of the $50.8 million will actually survive to be released.

You might mention that aside from improving the quality of life for Floridians, our cultural scene supports our economy, to the extent that it has been calculated that every dollar of funding generates about $9 more in related income.
